Rooting that Sexy Samsung Galaxy S3

Owning a Samsung Galaxy S3 at this time may be a dream come true and may similarly be a mileage over your friends. The phone is just amazing out-the-box, but from curiosity of man there might just be a craving somewhere within you to explore the ultimate potential of the phone. I would advice not to get the Super-User privileges just yet but it’s your phone anyway and nobody knows what’s best for you than YOU do.
Rooting basically means getting a feel of ‘administrator’ privileges just like on a computer thus being able to do things which normal users wouldn’t be able. Some of the things you can edit and customize to your preference include; the boot animation, the operating system and removing any applications from the manufacturer that really don’t impress you. Rooting is not new to many Android users who love to explore the fancy unrestricted world but this is not to say there are no risks. As much you can play around with sewed operating systems (ROMs) and get diverse applications, the phone is left vulnerable to malicious apps because the safety measures are broken. The firmware may also be destroyed rendering the phone unusable.
If you understand these risks and are still smiling after the previous paragraph then you are the best person to continue reading. To root your new monster phone you should proceed as follows;
Step #1: Preparation
This is a very critical step and necessitates that you have Samsung Kies and update the phone’s drivers on your PC. Using this software, you will be able to back up your data including photos, contacts, to-dos and such. You need then to get Odin 3 which is a rooting software (you can search the internet) or click here.
Step #2: File Manipulation
Once you have downloaded the file, you will have to extract it (probably using WinRar) and install the .exe file on your PC. You will have to extract the archive file CF-root to be able to see a main component which has a .tar extension. Browsing the file may be tricky but playing with the PC settings will enable you see the files. Click the PDA icon and browse the file to the .tar file extracted previously
Step #3: Loading
To allow for the file to be loaded into the phone, you will have to select the ‘download mode’ as this allows communication between the phone and your computer. You will thus have to shut down the phone –you can confirm this by removing the battery – and hold the power button, volume down and home key combination for a few seconds. The phone will ask for confirmation to go to download mode and you need to confirm by pressing the volume up button. Once this is done, you should connect the phone to the PC and observe the notification ‘added’ shown at the bottom of Odin.
Step #4: Run
Check the Reset Time and Auto Reboot boxes and click start BUT wait... make sure you are still up to the task... you can always quit before clicking the Start button. If you decide to go on with the process then you should expect to see a green box at the completion of the root setup. The phone will show progress in the form of texts on a black screen and then reboot. Once it reboots into the Operating System that you expect, then its congratulations to you. Best of Luck!
NB: If it does not load and just reboots, then you can try connecting the phone once again and repeat the last step.
You can always leave your comments on how things go... and just a heads-up Samsung galaxy S3 recently made it to Kenya.

Using the CNC stripped punch machine to fabricate components

Most metal fabrications of the present age are dependent on Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machines because of their efficacy in manufacturing process. The CNC punch presses are used in different processes with varied designs due to significant differences in some of them. Some of them are single headed or tool rail while others are multi tool turret designed with programming aimed at punching holes in different components. The metal is placed under the machine and it is moved from point x to y with accuracy of the programming.
Most CNC machines are made to have an accuracy of between 0.5mm to 6.0mm in various types of metals such as Steel, Zinc, and Aluminium. There are various types of holes that can also be punched onto the metal fabrications. There are also, many levels of programming that can be used to fabricate different components such as Brackets and electric boxes. The industrial processes are however are carried out under specific details and serve various purposes. They can also be put to use in POP display fixtures and Chasis designs and their use continues to gain prominence due to the fact that they have numerous benefits.
As much as the production may be specific they all have been revolutionized tohave increased automation and therefore offer partial control over the quality. The automation also allows for better flexibility such that components are held in the process of manufacture. The programming therefore makes the work less tedious and helps professionals to exercise the processes effectively. One of the real benefits that these machines really serve a great deal in metal fabrications is the precision and accuracy which companies require mandatorily. This enables them to calibrate complex designs and carry out more complicated operations which cannot be pulled off by human workers. There is more success when using the CNC machines in that errors are reduced and the production is more oriented.
More to the bettered production, the machines offers increased speed of which in essence is a frontier of the technology used to increase production capacity. The system allows for development of more effective production techniques which put more scrutiny on errors and also offers a platform for correction of errors. There is also better handling of components by the machine so that there is increased versatility in terms of tools. Specific tasks can therefore get allocated various types of tools that allows for better production and more distinct fabrication.
These machines are therefore exceptional for the reason that they can carry out more than one task with a great deal of accuracy which is better than human driven alternatives. The components of the metal fabrications can also be managed better such that their repetitive nature is not tedious. The productions process therefore continues to get diversified through use of common parts to come up with various complex designs and achieve better results. As growth continues to increase in the sector therefore, more and more demand for fabrications get attended to by simplistic approach of the CNC machines.

How to Succeed in Orchid Gardening: Supplies

Orchid farming can be a hectic due to the complexity of dealing with these plants especially if you are not efficiently informed. One of the factors that comprehensively determine success in growing orchids is the supplies you use. The essential supplies that you should ensure you have before purchasing the seed or young plant include:
1. Pruning snips
Blooming of the orchid plant is very much welcomed by the respective growers but it can be short-lived if not properly attended to. This is where the pruning snips come to play, there are important in shaping the plant. There are handily used for trimming the wayward projections of the plant so that the plant is shaped in the most suitable way.
2. Pots
To begin with, the orchids need to have a distinct container for which the adequate conditions can be defined for the plant to flourish. In most instances, people will go for simple pots made from either terra cotta or plastic so that the beauty of the plant is visualized. The important thing for them to note about these pots is that they take the crown by being very affordable. This is advantageous to the grower in that they have peace of mind when considering re-potting after a year.
3. Potting Mix
Aeration for orchids is a must and that is why the potting soil needs to permit air circulation around the roots of the plant. The choice of potting mix should therefore be a consideration made after review and consultation to ensure that aeration is ample. A proper mix for potting is one that has vermiculite or perlite because these substances allow for ideal air supply.
4. Fertilizer
Fertilizer is very important in the growth cycle of orchids although many people do not realize this and therefore get disappointed when the plants wither. This is a mistaken idea which has failed many people who may have had high hopes because they had followed all other directives to the letter. Considering the fact that orchids require precise soil mixtures for growth, the same case applies for the nutrient choice. Fertilizers are rich in the nutrients that are readily needed by the orchid plants for them to bloom. The concentration of constituents needed has to be determined first of all so that the application is appropriate to the plant’s needs and effective for growth.
5. Light
Everything lives and depends on light and this is a factor that makes orchids normal because they depend on it for growth. Sun is the significant source of light although there are other artificial sources that you can go for and still serve the purpose.
6. Misting Bottle
Orchids require a high percentage of moisture and that is why a misting bottle is essential even if you regularly water the plant. The bottle can come in handy when the plant needs moisture and this will also vary according to species.
7. Pest Supplies
Pest control products are mandatory for making sure the plant does not fall victim to variable types of pests. These can be harmful to the plant and may result in death rendering all your efforts to keep it alive, worthless. There several types of supplies that can be used for orchids although organic ones are the best.

You may also consider getting support for the orchid in the form of mounts if need be or use humidity trays to aid in germination. These are supplies that are essential in guaranteeing cost effective orchid growth.

Comprehensive Tips To Using Your Galaxy S3

Being a high-end device and one of the biggest Smartphones ever launched, the Samsung Galaxy s3 is one that is nothing less than Amazing. Anyone who gets their hands on the device is sure to enjoy an exciting software package meant to complement the unique and powerful hardware. It is important therefore that you understand the most basic things that can make your experience with the device a marvelous one. For one, the phone does not fall short of customizations by the manufacturer although they are all default and may not be what you really prefer. So to start off, here are some things you may want to consider;

#1: Organizing Your Samsung Galaxy S3 Apps
There are plenty of applications that come pre-installed on the phone and all of which may/may not be of useful to you. If you find some irrelevant ones, you will have the option to hide so that they don’t fill your app menu for no reason. Whichever app you want to hide, you just have to long tap on it and haul it to the where there is ‘App Info’ and select the option to disable. This can be repeated on all the apps that are not of much use but in case you discover a use for one of them, the process can be reverted by going to the Settings where you have Application Manger and enable the specific app.

#2: Securing Your Samsung Galaxy S3
Before we even get to the boundless things you can do with the phone and its enormous storage, we need to make sure the phone is safe protected. Emails, pictures, texts, videos and other forms of data are your personal stuff and should not be access without your permission. In order to make the phone yours and yours only, you will have to consider three options; the start screen, encryption and remote functions.

Start Screen: By checking the settings of your phone and choosing the Security option, you will see the screen lock option where you can define your preferred lock type. There is face unlock option along with the traditional PIN alternative.

Encryption: For files that you have saved on the device, this is the best way to ensure that no one without the password gets access to them. This covers everything on the phone including the SD card and is quite a long process so you will have to be patient for it finish successfully. You will still need to tap the settings and proceed to Security option and choose ‘Encrypt Device’

Remote Functions: These is a feature that is backed up by the manufacturer and will give you the convenience of getting locating you phone if lost and allow remote wipe of data. He option to enable Remote Controls is available in the settings menu but will necessitate you to sign up for a Samsung Account to track your device on the manufacturer’s website.

#3: The Phone’s Lock Screen Customization
When you crave for convenience of access, the phone has a variety of shortcut options such as apps and widgets which you can use for fast access. These will however be made possible at the expense of the Start screen security option I mention above, you should therefore make you option worth it. If your conscience weighs more on this option then you will be able to set it via the settings, under security once you select ‘Lock Screen Options’.

#4: Samsung’s Newest Feature – S Voice
This is a handy feature for speaking to your Samsung Galaxy S3 and is quite smart to recognize whatever you will tell it. The PA services of the feature enable you to speak commands at the phone while it snappily puts them to action. You will need to befriend your personal assistant before everything work out smooth; you will need therefore to hit the home key on the phone twice successively and utter “What Can I Say?” to get a detailed list of possible commands. You may also use the S Voice settings to get more customization options.

#5: Galaxy S3 Data Monitor
This marvel of a phone also grants you the opportunity to enjoy your limited carrier data plan with peace of mind because it monitors your usage for you. From the Settings menu, you will get the Data Usage option and once you select it you will be able to set a limit, the billing rate and probable notification.

#6: Custom Alerts on the Smartphone
Other than the traditional customization of tones for alerts, the Samsung Galaxy S3 also allows you to define vibration alerts to your taste. You will get this option by checking out the Settings menu and selecting ‘Device Vibration’ under Sounds. Your rate of tapping will define the vibration pattern and once you are satisfied, you will have to save the option as the default for it to take effect.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 has many more features that you can play with to make the phone suitable for you taste. For information you can check out the Samsung Website or the phone’s manual for other handy details.

Realistic Approach to Getting Twitter Followers

Twitter is miles behind Facebook in terms of ‘active audience’ but with numbers around 100 million; no one can argue that it has a very large family. If you are on twitter for the right reasons (social) you will surely be interested in followers, if you know what I mean. You may follow as many people as you possibly can but if your tweets are only visible on your TL (I mean TimeLine), you will most likely not enjoy tweeting. In as much as Twitter is a social platform and every user is allowed the freedom to tweet whatever they want, tweets about meals have never been the kind to attract followers. Value in tweets is the main source of interest for tweet buddy loyalty.
There are many other factors that contribute to significant following including your bio which revolves around creating a relevant inkling to other users. This is just basic because it’s what you would do if anyone is asking you to follow them. It is therefore important that you detail your account with the right information (probably the most relevant and interesting facts) to give people reason to follow you. Some of the basic things you should be keen about when reviewing you bio include you:

Being real
Your bio needs to be welcoming and personalized to make you look like a humorous person who anybody would easily want to associate with. The best way to do this is ensure that there is something about you, i.e. your name and probably where you are located in the planet. Humour is very significant to bringing out the real you, but you will also have to have to write about things you do in real life such as hobbies and preferences. The depth of the information you provide will be all up to you although I would not advise putting up personal details.

Having an Avatar
There is a common avoidance for ‘tweeties’ who use the egg as their profile picture and mainly because it show their lack of interest in the site. This means that failing to include a picture on your profile will make people mistake you for a spammer or a sadist. A picture will go a long way in representing your social character even if it is just an object you relate to. NOTE: In the long run, it would be best to avoid certain extremes.

Being Fun
When you list your interests, you are telling people what kind of person you are and the kind of stuff they should expect from you. You need therefore not tell about prospects which you never talk about in your tweets. You should build your bio around what you really are or what intentions you have and stick to them. Do not contradict yourself! If you are in it for business, use keywords, if its purely personal just be natural.

It is important that you do not lie just to get a large following because followers are not permanent and can shortlist you pretty easily. These tips can therefore be useful for successfully making friends which I recommend if you really are genuine and maybe even follow me (@GamerVick) while at it!

Ways to Safeguard Your Privacy on the iPhone/iPad

Smartphone presence in the world is ever increasing and they ever getting more affordable and more relevant in our daily activities. The more these devices are put to use, the more data they collect and therefore everybody’s concern is to ensure their data is protected. There is so much that can be accessed on the go using the iPhone and iPad for example; contacts, emails, media, just to mention a few. The convenience of such easy access however makes it difficult to secure.

# General
There are however, some very handy apps that you can use to ensure your data is kept or from other people rather such as Find My iPhone. The app can be used to deactivate your device if in the wrong hands but not after wiping all data remotely which is pretty much comforting.

# Basic
It is important to ensure that your iPhone or iPad has a pass code to prevent unauthorized access before waking the device from sleep mode. This is basic for protecting the device from the wrong hands.

# Personal Data
Whenever you hand out your device to friends or technicians, you will probably have to let them have access to the some content. There is confidential information however that you may not want them to touch and that is where Secure Folder comes in handy. The app lets you secure areas where you store vital data which you can protect using a code; it works ideally for notes, photos, addresses and videos with support for passwords, card numbers and bookmarks.

# Contacts
More than often, attacks on Smartphones target the address book because of the ‘value’ of the contact information. A great solution to securing the address book is Contacts Pro, which is effective in creating a private list which is not visible on the standard. From the app, you can see all the contacts or customize your view. You should note however that there is no auto-import and you will have to make the list individually.
These are great iPad/iPhone apps which have their own private boxes or areas rather where unauthorized access can be prevented using set passwords or codes. The information is aimed at helping you better manage your data and enjoy peace of mind when your device is not in your hands. You can share more ideas...
You can get an iPhone or iPad from Orange Kenya and probably various other carriers and retailers.

How to Customize Your Windows 7 and Vista Firewall for Better Control

PC users all over the world understand the convenience Microsoft Security Essentials has to offer in terms of providing basic protection. There are however those who just do not bother about the basics and turn to third-party alternatives for their security. It is important however to note that there are great programs that can boost MSEs’ performance and make it customizable for more secure options. A good example of such a program is TinyWall.
Once you install the program and run it on your machine; it gets installed to the system tray and is visible as an icon with an orange wall and a globe. The first configuration the program does to your computer is block internet access to all programs (almost all). Nonetheless, you can enable web access by white listing programs that you want to connect. The available whitelist options are by window and by executable files but all the same navigation through the PC is must.
To get better control of your PC, you may need to select Manage to get more options on exceptions and details about notifications. The program has nice mode feature to enable you change the access privileges to ‘permitted’ or ‘denied’ while it can also learn how your system is run automatically for more effectiveness; this is a feature that has to be enabled.
This can be a great option for loyal fans of MSE in Windows 7 and Vista as it offers more control of the system.

How Best To Take Notes On Your Android Smartphone

Android is a great Operating System mostly for its dominance in the market today and for the fact that it is well stocked with useful apps and games. One of the great benefits of running android is the ability to multitask which gives you the power to running several applications without having to reopen them. The convenience of using and android running Smartphone however is limited in that you can only use one application at a time (in the foreground to be specific). This ideally means that you are only accorded the power to switch to your minimised application while the current open one replaces it in minimized mode. When you need to research on the go, switching between the web and a notepad to put down points can wear you out.
The consistent efforts of developers for the android market have given rise to a great application that finds a solution to this tiny problem. Hovernote is a notepad application that does exactly as its name suggests, Hover or rather Hang over your running application. This makes is easy to read content from a web browser or any other application while you take your notes. This is an optimal application for tablet users, but the application works on all android devices so you can use even on a smallish screen of a Smartphone. When running any application and decide you want to take note of your discovery, you can access Hovernote from the notification area and start typing right away.
The app is flexible so that you can resize or move it around to reveal hidden reading areas and in the case of tablets, you can open more than one notepad. The application can be closed by tapping the menu and then the X sign. Saving content you have typed is also made easy in that you can share to Gmail, Google Drive, Dropbox or any other services you use.

How to Deal With Eye Strain Especially in Dark Rooms

Technology has brought a plethora of options by which people can enjoy multimedia content be it in form of the most craved for HD TVs or portable Tablets, Laptops and Smartphones. The human eye however has not been able to ‘evolve’ to the pace of technological innovation. This has hence been the cause of various eye problems for resulting from extended periods of enjoying the ever-interesting eye candy. Many people may realize that their eyes starts to hurt after some time spent watching content on screens.
It is important to understand that this is a common problem affecting many people and if you are a victim, your first reaction should be to consult an eye doctor. Once they do a check up and establish that your eyes are okay then the problem must be the screen or presumably the habit. In most instances, eye strain may develop when watching content from small and bright displays while in a dark room. The darkness in the room makes the irises to expand in order to collect as much light as possible (which is actually their work). Since the display(s) take a tiny percentage of the whole field of view, there is little effect on the irises expansion. The light being radiated form the screen therefore hits the eyes tenfold and may result in eye and head aches. The effects are furthermore linked to fatigue of the eyes which is rarely connected to the body.
In this case, and from a non-doctor’s perspective, the best relief is to check the settings of the display you are using and adjusting the brightness. The default settings in most cases are set for day-usage and therefore are not suitable for dark rooms. Reducing the light emission will make it easier on your eyes thus better to watch. TVs have better control features such as backlight control and contrast balance which effectively work to lower the total light being outputted.
The other solution to this problem is to leave the lights in the room on. This comes as a second option for obvious reasons; most people like to watch movies in the dark. For bloggers and writers on the other hand, this might just be the first step. If this is not possible for some reason, it can be a great idea to invest in lamp that can be placed behind the display. This balances the light in the room and makes it more tolerable for your eyes. Other than these, you can also invest on a bigger screen or maybe a projector for a much more increased field of view.
